What was once a dream

Now is a scheme

Brainwashed by this poisonous snake

Lingers in our mind with temptations that we wish to not take

Reality becomes fake

What decisions should I make?

Should I choose the path that is so tempting but could end up with a terrible price?

Or choose the path that isn’t so popular in this culture but end up knowing that my life was suffice?

I’m a lost bird that can’t find its way home

Desperate for anything that I begin to roam

All I need is some advice

From someone that is enduringly wise

That can mentor me towards my future

I’m like a missing ingredient from a cake mixture

It may seem quite delicious

But once a taste of this deceitful product you become suspicious

That something about this isn’t quite right

That we need to stop living in the dark and finally turn on the light

To learn from our mistake

So that we can finally become a tasteful cake

That is not fake

That took its time and effort to bake

What was once a dream

Is now not a scheme

Just a new perspective in life
