The Tree of Wisdom

Branches brushing against the summer breeze
An old fruit tree sat against a grassy hill with much ease
The bark showed its scars of age
Its story has more than just one page
Its wisdom comes down all the way from its roots
A man just has to eat from its fruits
To savor its wisdom
To sit down and just listen
To what this tree has to offer
That its layers are like pages written from an author
It speaks nothing but the truth
That even with age it can still have impact to the youth
Wisdom comes to those who are willing to become vulnerable and just ask
For help to finish a task
That wisdom doesn’t hide beneath a mask
That wisdom never dies
From the tree that is wise
