The Lion’s Roar

A roar heard from miles away
The heat from the safari gets hotter everyday
There up on the highest rock was a lion
His cub beside him trying
To roar
His father just smiled and told him, “You must understand what your looking for”
“For this land will someday be yours”
“They must know who is king no matter if you have bumps, bruises, or sores”
“It’s not fear but confidence that you will give them”
“I tell you, do not condemn”
“For we all have a purpose on this earth”
“It’s up to you to show everyone what your worth”
His cub looked at his father all frightened, “But father I’m scared”
He looked at his cub so calmly and responded, “So do all who live in times like these, that’s why you must be prepared”
“I won’t be here forever”
“That is why you must endeavor”
“So let me hear you roar”
So his cub stood up tall and tried to roar once more
There on the highest rock stood a lion, not a cub no more
For this is the lion’s roar
