Cars!
Unique
You are unique
You are special
Don’t let someone critique
Because you are a vessel
You have a purpose
You have a meaning
Theres deeper meaning beyond the surface
And never stop dreaming
Because there is no one like you
Be yourself
Be true
Be that unique book on the bookshelf
Be the person you have always wanted to be
Work hard so you can exceed beyond what others thought you could exceed
Because eventually someone will see
And will pick your book up and read
That there’s more beyond the cover
That there is still more to write, more than just one page
That there is still so much more to discover
So let go of those chains, free out of that cage
Because you are unique
A Year to Remember
A year to remember
Yet a year to forget
From January to December
A year full of regrets
A year of sorrow
A year of pain
A year of no tomorrow
A year of no gain
A year of happiness
A year of joy
A year full of cheerfulness
A year of kids getting a brand new toy
A year of comfort
A year full of laughter
A year full of wonder
A year of what might happen after
A year that changes us
A year that pushes us away
A year to discuss
Of all the things that made us who we are today
Yet it was still a year of war
Still a year full of hate
A year of people who are still poor
A year full of people who want to debate
Yet a year has passed
And questions still asked
Will you let go of your past?
Or will you hide it behind a mask?
We may not have the power of how are year is going to be
But we do have the power on who we are going to be
So let your personality reflect in the mirror
And let us make this new year a better year
Why do Bad Things Happen to Good People
Why is it when we do good
It feels like we are misunderstood
That I understand everything happens for a reason
But this has been a hard season
At times I feel like I want to cry
All alone not anyone nearby
How could something like this happen to me?
How could I be so blind that I couldn’t see?
Why do bad things happen to good people?
How can words be so lethal?
How can I recover from this?
When I can’t take the time back that I missed
I just want to let this go, I don’t want to hold this burden much longer
Because what hurts us makes us stronger
Even if we don’t understand why
Doesn’t mean we can’t try
Because life is full of ups and downs
That we can always turn things around
So stay true to who you are
Even if it’s hard, just know you will travel far
So be good to others even if they don’t do the same
Because you have something they don’t, love which has no other name
Christmas Tree
It was a cold night
But in a small house it was warm and delight
The fire place was lit
As music was played, a few family members even danced for a bit
It was Jolly
And Holly
But what stood out the most was a small decorated tree
So simple and free
But it represented so much
Like Tiny Tim in Scrooge with his crutch
It represented the past present and future
Past for all the good memories we share
Present for spending time with the people we care
And future for the next Christmas that we shall cherish
That Christmas will live forever even though the tree will perish
But a Christmas tree will sparkle in the night
A smell of pine reminds us of Christmas and the lights are quite a sight
On the very top of the tree a star or angel will shine
Towards baby Jesus in a manger who later in life turns water into wine
Who is our grape vine
Without him we cannot grow
And Christmas day is the day we show
Our thanks to a God who gave us this Christmas day
That this Christmas tree represents our own lives in a meaningful way
So Merry Christmas
And good night
And remember that even a Charlie Brown tree can shine a light
So may your days be merry and bright
I Dream
I dream of life
I dream of hope
I dream a future
From a book I wrote
I dream of smiles
I dream of laughter
I dream of voices
From those I’ve known
I dream of heaven
I dream of peace
I dream of children
Who live off the streets
I dream of love
I dream of marriage
I dream of a house
Built on stone
I dream…
I dream…
If only it was not just a dream
What Have We Become
What have we become
When we mock the smart but praise the dumb
What have we done
To a nation that use to be number one
Why do we spend
When money has an end
Why do we hate
When there is love we can create
Where will we be
In a future we barely want to see
Where do we go
When we have nothing to show
When will we succeed
If we can’t even help those who are in need
When will we believe
Instead of being naive
So we must make a change
Even if others look at us as though we are strange
And do our best
So we can invest
Because we are still a nation that is blessed
I’m Not a Perfect Person
I’m not a perfect person
I’m sorry for the things I’ve done
I’m sorry for the way I am
Trying to change what I use to be
I wish you could only see
That I’m trying the best I can
But I’m only human
That I make mistakes
That I can’t become something I’m not
That I will fight for you
All I ask is for a second chance
I’m not a hot shot
I just want you to know
That I found a reason to care
That I’m willing to give it all
So thank you for being yourself
For giving me your time
Even when I messed up
You still stand by
Even when I try
Because I’m not a perfect person
Free of Laughter
A giggle from a kid
Makes you wonder what they did
A heart of laughter
Oh what else could make you happier
Moments of laughing on the ground
What a laugh, what a crazy sound
Yet brings much joy
Like when a kid unwraps a new toy
A friend telling a joke
Making you squirm each time they poke
Tickling you till it hurts
Or laughing when someone burps
Watching a funny show
Playing around in the snow
Having a smile on your face
Snuggling with your family at the fire place
Because laughter brings the best of us
Gives us a break from all the hate and fuss
And surrounds us with joy and laughter
Instead of worrying about the past or what might happen after
So let that laughter out
Till it screams and shouts
Be young, be free
Let that contagious laugh out for all to hear and see
