I feel pain
I have nothing to gain
Why does it hurt
It all began with a small flirt
But life had a different direction
It was something small turning into an infection
How could I be so blind
There’s no way I can turn back time
Because good friends are hard to find
But I have to move on
So why can’t everyone just get along
Finding someone genuine now seems rare
So why do I care
When they could care less
That my whole life feels like a mess
That life is like a bottle of water
That the day keeps on getting hotter
No matter how much you drink you’re still thirsty
That you don’t feel worthy
But thank God that he gives us hope
From all the bad things we cope
Because he will help us overcome our pain
Even when we hurt he will help us gain
A new meaning in life

“Hey Buddy”
“How’s your day going?”
“I know I had a terrible day to”
“I thought you stopped growing?”
“Well I’m at least home with you”
His tail was wagging
I just sat down and stared with him in the distance
I looked at him and started bragging
“I knew you were the best dog the very instance… ”
“I saw you when you were a little pup”
“Why are you so loyal?”
“You just always know how to cheer me up”
“You always treat me like I’m royal”
“I don’t think I can ever thank you enough for being there for me at my worst”
“You comfort me and make me feel special everyday”
“I know I provide you food and water when you have hunger and when you have thirst”
“But you do the same for me in a different way”
“You’re my companion, my best friend”
“You listen even when I complain”
“Thank you for all the memories and time we spent”
“I know you’re only a short part of my life, but your life revolved in giving me the companion I could of never obtained”
“You are truly a man’s best friend”

How is it possible?
One may ask
When something seems unsolvable
Hides behind a mask
How can anyone overcome these struggles?
Questioning my ability
When life is full of troubles
Not realizing my capability
That maybe I have more strength than I thought
That I am capable of doing great things
By learning from everything I’ve been taught and giving everything I’ve got
Makes me realize of how much joy it brings
That suddenly anything is possible
That I can do anything if I give it my all
So be honest and be responsible
Pick yourself up when you fall
Because life is full of possibilities

I’m going on a adventure
I’m trying something new
I question myself, where should I venture?
So many things I can do
But why take a risk?
Why take a chance?
Don’t be too brisk
Take a second and glance
Is this what you really want?
Change is not always what we want but what we need
We sometimes need a little push, someone to be upfront
Don’t let your life be stolen away from greed
But think of all the experiences you can gain
Of all the stories you can tell
Don’t miss the train
Don’t dwell
On your past
But strive towards the future on what you’ve always wanted to do
And savor each moment, as long as it last
Because out there is an adventure waiting for you

You are special
Don’t let someone critique
Because you are a vessel
You have a purpose
You have a meaning
Theres deeper meaning beyond the surface
And never stop dreaming
Because there is no one like you
Be yourself
Be true
Be that unique book on the bookshelf
Be the person you have always wanted to be
Work hard so you can exceed beyond what others thought you could exceed
Because eventually someone will see
And will pick your book up and read
That there’s more beyond the cover
That there is still more to write, more than just one page
That there is still so much more to discover
So let go of those chains, free out of that cage

A year to remember
Yet a year to forget
From January to December
A year full of regrets
A year of sorrow
A year of pain
A year of no tomorrow
A year of no gain

A year of happiness
A year of joy
A year full of cheerfulness
A year of kids getting a brand new toy
A year of comfort
A year full of laughter
A year full of wonder
A year of what might happen after

A year that changes us
A year that pushes us away
A year to discuss
Of all the things that made us who we are today
Yet it was still a year of war
Still a year full of hate
A year of people who are still poor
A year full of people who want to debate

Yet a year has passed
And questions still asked
Will you let go of your past?
Or will you hide it behind a mask?
We may not have  the power of how are year is going to be
But we do have the power on who we are going to be
So let your personality reflect in the mirror

Why is it when we do good
It feels like we are misunderstood
That I understand everything happens for a reason
But this has been a hard season
At times I feel like I want to cry
All alone not anyone nearby
How could something like this happen to me?
How could I be so blind that I couldn’t see?
Why do bad things happen to good people?
How can words be so lethal?
How can I recover from this?
When I can’t take the time back that I missed
I just want to let this go, I don’t want to hold this burden much longer
Because what hurts us makes us stronger
Even if we don’t understand why
Doesn’t mean we can’t try
Because life is full of ups and downs
That we can always turn things around
So stay true to who you are
Even if it’s hard, just know you will travel far
So be good to others even if they don’t do the same
