Death is Only the Beginning

Life such a fragile thing
Oh how much pain it will bring
When one loses another
From friends to sisters and brothers
From fathers to mothers
Oh how we weep
When we feel like we’ve fallen in the deep
Oh how we remember the dead
That we will remember the words that they said
Of all the joy that they brought
Of all lessons that they taught
That we begin to regret
But sometimes we forget
That death is only the beginning
That we must enjoy every day that we are living
And pray for those who live today
So that we may rejoice on those who’ve  passed away

It’s Only a Dream

I’m thinking about you
Thinking about what we use to do
I can’t get you off my mind
Because love is blind
Everywhere I go
My love will always show
Every time I cry
You always stand by
I will always remember our past
I’m just happy for how long it last
It’s not what it seems
For it’s only a dream
About you and me

A House that is Broken

A kid living in a broken house
Trash and vomit welcomed by a mouse
Dad left him before he was born
Everything in his life has been shred up and torn
Mom pops pills
Till it almost kills
Mom’s boyfriend abuses and beats him up
Goes to school and gets pushed and drops his cup
Has no where to run or hide
Has no way of earning respect, even if he tried
He just wants a voice, to be heard, words to be spoken
From a life that is broken

A kid living in a fancy house
Her father still loving his spouse
She has everything she needs, can’t decide what clothes to wear
But even when she has it all, she still feels empty, that life isn’t fair
She has every barbie imaginable
Everything seemed attainable
Goes to a private school
She is the schools jewel
Parents expect high grades
Never has to do chores because of maids
She just wants a voice, to be heard, words to be spoken
From a heart that is broken

Two kids who live two different lives
Still want the same thing, something that makes them strive
But one day they meet each other in the play ground
They were playing hide and seek, they were playing around
When a boy found her he stared at her with awe
Pulled out a plastic ring with a fake diamond that he won from game called the claw
At the moment he did not care that his life was broken
He didn’t care of any prize or token
She gave him kiss on the cheek of appreciation
In that moment she felt amazing sensation
That it doesn’t matter where you’re from
That it won’t define on who you will become
That even from a heart and life that is broken
You can still have a voice, a choice, words that will be spoken

Hard Work

Everyday you give it your all
Everyday you want to stand tall
Every hour you sweat pain
Every hour there will be experience to gain
Every minute you focus on a task
Every minute you take the initiative, no questions asked
Every time you overcome a struggle
Every time you learn how to get out of your comfort level, you break through that bubble
Every moment you work your best
Every moment will become your true test
Because in every job you must decide, how much time and work are you willing to invest?

What is Normal?

We live in a world where we are told to be normal
And make fun of those who are abnormal
Who has the right to tell us how to live our life?
They are the ones who claim to be normal but then stab you in the back with a knife
We were all made by the same creator
So why become a hater?
It’s like we want to become something we’re not
Wanting to be the next hot shot
Unfortunately thats the way we’ve been taught
Taught to look down on those who think differently
And live in a generation who wants everything instantly
That we don’t want to give up our time to get to know them
Instead we would rather judge and condemn
That if we just gave them a chance
Instead of just giving them a glance
We would learn that maybe normal isn’t normal
That being abnormal is more formal
That being different is okay
Even if you are gay
That I would rather be odd
Than be a fraud
Because God is the only one who can judge
So stop holding that grudge
And love everyone for who they are
Because only than will you be able to travel far

Time of Our Life

This is the time of our life
This is the moment when we become a husband or a wife
This is the time when we live free
This is the moment when we accomplish something we’ve always wanted to be
This is the time when life stands still
This is the moment when life seems to move uphill
This is the time when we are young
This is the moment when we are goofy and stick out our tongue
This is the time when when our kid takes their first steps
This is the moment when we fix something that we thought was complex
This is the time when our kid leaves their home for a new future
This is the moment when we have a funny sense of humor
This is the time when we retire
This is the moment when we feel like we are on fire
So don’t take our time for granted
Because there will always be growth when we are planted
That we must live our life like it is our last
That we will always remember the good moments in our past
But don’t forget, that life is fragile and time flies fast
Just remember that this is the time of our life

Tears

Tears of joy
Tears running down from a young boy
Tears of laughter
Tears of what might happen after
Tears of sadness
Tears of anger that leads to madness
Tears of freedom
Tears for no reason
Tears of fear
Tears of knowing death is near
Tears of confrontation
Tears of intimidation
Because life brings us tears
It can be the trigger to our fears
Or it can be the result of our satisfaction
For tears are the reactions of our actions

Walking on Water

There we stand tipping our toes into foreign water
Fear rises within us as our legs begin to totter
But there in the distance was Jesus walking across the sea
Didn’t matter the impossible, you knew where you needed to be
In that moment you witness a miracle
That questions all your principals
But when you see God’s work you finally start to believe
And wondered how could you of been so naive
But when you tried too hard to understand and think
That’s when you start to sink
And yell
For help so that we may dwell
On Jesus
So that we may not fall into pieces
But God will lift us up when we fall
And pick us up so that we may stand tall
So that we may not totter
But when we have faith we can walk on water

Why All the Hate

Hate is such a vile word
Poison of words we wish we never heard
Yet it’s so easy to unveil
But will always leave behind a trail
So why do we hate?
Do we really believe we have the power of our own fate?
Do we really have to go into a debate?
Yet we put ourselves first
And treat others at their worst
Sometimes we believe we do it in the name of God
But in reality we’re just a fraud
That God never intended us to fight for him
But intended to love and become the change for him
That by showing love instead of hate brings a stronger message towards others
That we are all truly sisters and brothers
That in a world of all this hate
There is still love that we can create

Greater >

Our culture teaches us that money and possessions will bring happiness
That honor and pride will replace forgiveness
We are told that we can’t accomplish something
Told that we are nothing
Or maybe we are the fault and believe we deserve more
That we complain that they are rich and we are poor
That we worry about being greater
And forget about the true creator
That taught us that humility is greater than pride
That being honest is greater than having something to hide
That instead of thinking of what you deserve
Think instead of how you can serve
Of how you can be the change
Even if others look at you as though you are strange
Because our God is greater
Our God is higher
Than any other
