For us to not only know

Thankful
Why can’t I do that?
Why can’t I have this?
Why is it that we feel the need to always be entertained?
Always full of words to complain
That we forget that we are blessed
That we are the servers and not the guest
That I want to take a moment to be thankful
That I’m so thankful for my friends and family
For those who are always there for me
To have a roof over my house
To my future spouse
That I’m thankful for God
Who created the heavens and the skies
Who brings out the truth from the lies
Without him I would not exist
That allows me to persist
Towards my dreams
And my goals
Because we have so much to be thankful for
Risk Taker
Don’t be afraid
Don’t delay
Don’t let your passion walk away
Because you have so much to offer
That if we hold back we will never prosper
The only way to move forward is to make a risk
To feel that adrenaline, to become brisk
Without risks we cannot see our full potential
That taking risks is essential
So don’t be scared
Because God is always there
To help us move forward
And push us toward
A purpose, a hope
To give us the will to climb that rope
So be brave
Because you are not a slave
But we are free
To be whatever we want to be
So don’t be scared to be a risk taker
Because we can do all things from someone who is greater
Beauty is Knowledge
Beauty isn’t always just looks
Doesn’t matter if she cleans or cooks
But beauty can come from the heart and mind
There would be no grapes without the vines
Because beauty is knowledge
Doesn’t matter if you had good grades in school or in college
But you yearned to learn
And used what you learn to earn
That there is nothing more attractive than a smart hardworking women
That doesn’t need you to complete her
But chooses you to partner with her
To help each others weaknesses
And help build each others strengths
To be faithful no matter the lengths
So don’t be scared to be smart
But embrace it because you are a work of art

Much to be Learned
No matter how much I know
Will never determine on what path I will go
That there will always be room to learn
A future to earn
That sometimes we have to fall to rise
No limits, beyond the skies
That life may not be fair
But the difference is that you care
That you are starving to learn more
That your destiny is knocking at your door
All you have to do is open it
And welcome it
Because wisdom is knowledge
Knowledge does not have come from college
But it comes to those who seek to learn

A place of security
A place where I am free

That if you just let God be your hiding place
He will help you face those fears
That the monsters won’t get you
That the light will shine brighter

A place where I can believe
Always Love
There is hate
There are people who want to debate
They want to push us down
And treat us like a clown
Like we are a city rat
But you’re better than that
Because when they hate we love
When they look down we look above
Just because they do it doesn’t mean we have to do it too
So instead let them question what we do
Because life is more than just having a well known name
It’s more than games and fame
It’s being there when they need us the most
When we welcome them like we’re a host
