A knight so vigilant with desire

A young girl giggled as her father read her a bed time story
He read a fairy tale story about a knight who didn’t care for fame and glory
All he cared for was the love from a princess locked up in a tower
Where she had almost no food and water and not enough water to shower
She didn’t have much time
For a witch had cast a spell on her and punish her beauty as a crime
But the knight became her shining armor
He was very brave but not much of a charmer
Not much of a ladies man
But would do anything to take her hand
He defeated the witch
He was offered enough gold from her father to make him rich
But the only thing he wanted was her
Having her in his life made life seem as though it wasn’t a blur
She looked up at him and admitted, “Thank you for saving me but I’m not a princess I’m a daughter from a rich merchant.”
“But you are a princess, a lady with honor, with love, with courage, and with beauty is what I define a princess. I’m no knight but I am a humble servant.”
“I grow crops for farming.”
“I’m sorry but I’m no prince charming.”

She responded, “A knight is a man with courage and loyalty. He comes once in a life time.”
The little girl’s father concluded, “And they lived happily ever after. The end. Just remember that it doesn’t matter who you are, you are capable of doing great things and you can be who ever you want to be.”
“Daddy I want to be a princess.”
“But you are a princess.”
“Daddy I hope my prince is just like you.”
“I hope your dreams come true.”

Remember the saying when life flashes before your eyes
Every second of every minute my body cries
It cries for your presence
It prays for protection from a God who created the heavens
That every stroke written by my pen is a piece of my heart

A storm is coming
How do I prepare myself for something that can destroy my home to nothing
There is no where to run or hide
Not having a soul by my side
I’m so scared that I start to cry
Because this may be my last goodbye
Will I survive this hurricane
That will swallow me up by this rain
That it will bring sorrow to my life
Even when I have had enough it will still come back and stab me with a knife
That this storm will twist my life into a tornado
Or burn with rage from an eruption of a volcano
That life will frighten us with lightning and hail
That a tsunami will throw us around and not let us sail
That this world will feel like it’s at its end
That this world has no hope and no where to ascend
But life always has a second chance
That if we just open our eyes and glance
And see that the storm is gone
That even though the storm has left, there will still be damage that we will have to mend on
That our life is like a storm
It may be the part of our life that will transform
The way we feel
And deal
With emotions and down points
That will crush our bones and joints
To nothing but dust
And rust
A storm will change our life forever
So we must survive and learn from our mistakes so we can change for the better

Music runs through my veins
It gains
Nothing but joy for every father, mother, and child
It allows someone to let go and be wild
That the sunshine will shine
When music speaks to the soul of mine
That when music rains
It sure entertains
People who just want to hear the words of life
But the wrong words can also stab you in the back with a knife
It’s music that inspires us to try
That we don’t care how it’s presented to us and the what and the why
As long as music speaks to us and brings us hope
That there is nothing that we cannot cope
So thank God we have ears
So that we may hear the voice of music speak to the crowds of cheers

Light sparkling in the night
Oh how much I enjoy this sight
The sight of seeing
That light is much more than just one meaning
Without light there is dark
Even in total blackness there can be a spark
That ignites the night with vision
To influence and help someone envision their decision
To be the light of the world
To unroll this life to the state that its unfurled
That life needs a voice
A light that can power someone’s choice
That even a small match can make a difference in a world that is filled with so much darkness
That we need to harness
Ourselves to something secure
To ensure
Our life leads towards the goodness of this earth
Because when we came into this world we saw the first glimpse of light out of the womb from our mother giving birth
So let us show this world of what we are worth
Because when there is darkness there will always be light
