The Moments That Count

Are these memories or are these dreams?
So many emotions
So many thoughts
So many lessons I’ve been taught
So many people that have brought
Happiness
But also sadness
Love
But also hate
Fear of what may be my fate
But joy of what’s to come
So don’t be discouraged on the small things in life
But cherish the moments that count
Like when the pastor pronounces you husband and wife
Like when your kid takes their first baby steps
Like when you are reunited with an old friend
Like when you take a family vacation to Disneyland
Like when all feels lost but a friend or family is there when it counts
Because in the end, experiences not money nor possessions will be the memories that count
So cherish every moment, every family or friend, every place you encounter
Because you’ll never know what day could be your last
